Archive for the “Can’t Focus” CategoryIt’s a full moon! Here are a set of pics with the d40 at 200mm. The last photo was at f16, shutter 1/320. O’man and I read a blog once that said you can get great moon shots with a small aperture and fast shutter. That gets the details, then you can clean it up in photoslop. These are 100% crops, so a better camera would give you a bigger moon.
Nikon’s RAW photo format is NEF. I switched my D40 to save in raw today rather than jpg. The photo size went from about 2 to 5MB. Not a big deal. Totally not a big deal if your memory card is big enough. Here is a quick example of what I was able to do with an image in NEF. The first pic is the original. That’s how it looked on the camera. The second is after making a few adjustments in a program like photivo or photoshop’s camera raw. I had no idea. Sold.
Connect the dots and it spells DIRTY.
Two pictures from two seasons take 2.5 years apart. In one, a cold bitter landscape perfect for flinging yourself down in a hill in a card board box. The other, an allergenic, mosquito infested hell scape. I prefer box sled stunt man to cow in a field. |
